Terms & Conditions
Terms governing use of the Petroleum Academy website, course enquiries, enrolments, learner access and certificates.
1. About Petroleum Academy
Petroleum Academy provides private industry short-course training for the downstream petroleum sector. Courses are intended for professional development, practical industry awareness and business competence-building.
2. Course delivery
Courses are marketed through Petroleum Academy and may be delivered through Teachy or another approved learning platform. Learners must use the access details provided after enrolment and payment or invoice verification.
3. Private industry short courses
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Petroleum Academy courses are not SAQA, QCTO, SETA or NQF qualifications. They do not replace statutory licensing, regulatory approvals, legal advice, engineering advice, environmental advice, laboratory testing, town-planning advice or financial advice.
4. Enrolment and payment
Enrolment may be handled through online checkout, manual invoice or corporate enrolment arrangement. Course access may be withheld until payment, invoice approval or corporate authorisation has been verified.
5. Certificates
Petroleum Academy may issue Certificates of Completion or Certificates of Competence depending on the course structure. Competence wording should only be used where an assessment or competence activity forms part of the course.
6. Intellectual property
Course videos, documents, templates, checklists, worksheets, learner materials, brand names, course structures and Petroleum Academy content remain protected intellectual property. Learners may use materials for their own learning or internal business application, but may not resell, copy, distribute, publish, train others from, upload or commercialise the material without written permission.
7. Learner responsibility
Learners and businesses remain responsible for how training content is applied. Petroleum Academy does not guarantee commercial success, regulatory approval, licence approval, dispute resolution, financial return or operational outcome.
8. Corporate training
Corporate training, group enrolments, custom rollouts and bulk learner arrangements may be subject to separate proposal, invoice or written terms. Where separate terms conflict with these website terms, the specific written corporate arrangement will apply to that enrolment.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Petroleum Academy is not liable for indirect, consequential or commercial losses arising from use of this website, course content, learner decisions, regulatory outcomes, supplier conduct, product-quality disputes, development decisions or third-party platform issues.
